Housing for the Dasters family

This week in Interior Design we learned about blueprints and design. This house is perfect for my family of soon to be five, with their collection of cars and big busy lifestyle. With all their children being younger than four, their bedrooms are all on the same floor. Also having opening rooms downstairs it gives the mom a place for crafts and an area for the kids to play. Another benefit is the island bar area in the kitchen for parties, such as birthday and baby shower.

Kitchen Fun!

This week in Interior Design we learned about kitchens and their functions. My indoor kitchen is almost all stainless steel with granite counter tops, both are trending recently in kitchens. I also like how my sink is tucked away and in front of a window to look out when I clean.

My outdoor kitchen is on a patio and has a wood burner grill with a small pool in the center to lounge around and host small parties and get together's with friends. My deck is also secluded by the bushes that provide privacy and a nice view.

Upbeat Rhythm In Housing

This week in Interior Design we learned of Rhythm and how it can be in color, pattern, or in repetition.

Repetition
This type of rhythm is exactly what it sounds like, it is the repeating of : a color, pattern, or idea.
This picture displays color repetition of blues and teals.
This one represents the repetition of circles and curved lines through out the room.

Radiation
This category of rhythm is for starting in one point and expanding out, like the focal point and the objects that expand from it.
This photo shows how the focal point is the table and the chair radiate out.

This one shows the ceiling light as the center point and the furniture and ceiling below as the radiating objects.

Gradation
Is where the pattern, color, or proportion gradually changes.
This shows the purple color changing,
This one shows the records gradually getting smaller

Movie Night Harmony

This week in Interior Design we learned about harmony; when decorations, colors, textures, and patterns blend together. Also they involve themes, my theme for this project is a movie room . They all have a vintage movie feel, also because I'm a 60's movie fanatic! I used some a-symmetry and with the rhythm with downward pattern of movie posters. With all the texture, color, and common theme this room create a good harmony for a Friday movie night!
